In March 2022, Revcap acquired an office development project located in central Madrid totaling 13,267 buildable m2. The asset was acquired in joint venture with one of Revcap’s most prolific Spanish Local Operating Partners who has considerable experience in delivering sustainable office, residential and retail development projects across Madrid’s metropolitan area.
The asset is located in the affluent district of Salamanca, in the up-and-coming neighbourhood of Fuente del Berro within Madrid’s M-30 ring road and was previously operated as a taxi repair garage. It is now being developed under a Net Zero carbon construction programme and designed to achieve all ESG certification including LEED Platinum, WELL and Wired Score Gold or Platinum ratingd. It will be one of the first Net Zero Carbon enabled buildings in Spain, with a wood structure and geothermal heating. The development will offer work opportunities for local communities and become a traction point for future talent, driving a shift from old industrial activity towards a corporate hub offering ‘work, life and play’. Future users will also have more than 4,000m2 of outdoor spaces: central courtyard, terraces, and walkable roofs. Completion is expected in 2025.
